And maybe that’s why you should visit The Lord of the Rings filming locations, from Mordor to Hobbiton as your first stop. Head to Weta Workshop in Wellington, where kids can learn all about incredible filmmaking experiences. Along the way, don’t forget to check out six stories of the national museum, Te Papa as well for free at the same city. There are plenty of great activities for kids in this dramatic country.
The glowworm caves at Waitomo who light your way like tiny blue stars is one of the favorites, kids will be enthralled by. The Hot Water Beach on the Coromandel Peninsula definitely kicks it up a notch to have fun building sandcastles and relax in the bubbling pools.
