Itinerary: China National Film Museum——China Railway Museum——Caochangdi Art Villa Area

 

 

Your first stop is China National Film Museum, which is currently the largest film museum in China. It has four floors filled with 4300 stills and 1500 films whilst the giant ring-screen hall is the best place to take photos. After that, learn about the contributions made by the railroads and rail equipment to the rapid growth and importance of China on the world stage. You can also experience some things first hand in the simulators. If you find 798 art district too commercial and lacking in real art, then we recommend you to visit Caochangdi Art Villa Area. Here you can find lots of small galleries and a couple of pretty good coffee shops.

Caochangdi Art Villa Area (草产地艺术村)

Walk into real Beijing

 

Itinerary: No. 93 Intangible Cultural Heritage Workshop —— Liulichang Street —— Dai Yuexuan —— Neiguantang Bookstore

 

 

Start your day with one of the Chinese intangible cultural heritage such as painting your own clay rabbit, making kite paper or enjoying Resist dyeing in No. 93 Workshop. Stroll around Liulichang Street where you can find a lot of antiques, calligraphy, paintings, and the four treasures of the study. When you walk down the alley you will find Dai Yuexuan Store as the originator of the Chinese brush shop. Enjoy the fun of calligraphy here before you leave, or perhaps buying a brush as a souvenir would also be a nice choice. Neiguantang bookstore is hidden among the green plants on the alleyway, brimming with book “treasures” in a pocket-sized store.

The Mix of Ancient Architecture and Nature

 

Itinerary: Xihuang Temple – Waiguan Xie Street – Liuyin Park – Kong Miao and Imperial College Museum

 

 

Beijing has an extremely mysterious place that is barely known even by locals. Xihuang Temple was originally where Dalai Lama gathered and several eminent monks frequented. After being closed to the public for more than 300 years, it is now reopened as Beijing’s only Tibetan Buddhism Cultural Museum. Out of the temple, you can stroll along Waiguan Xie Street where you can find some antique shops. Next immerse yourself with a duck and lotus-filled lake surrounded by weeping willows and pavilions in Liuyin Park. There are also some kid activities such as trampolines, bumper cars, and paddle boats. Kong Miao and Imperial College museum will be your last stop of the day. Explore the architecture and history of the existing ancient state college.
