Day 1: Welcome to Bhutan

  • Pick up from the airport.
  • Head to Thimphu (about 55Minutes drive).
  • Stop for a while on the way at the excellent Horse temple.
  • Visit the Weekend Market at the Centenary Farmer’s Market, National Memorial Stupa.
  • Drop by the Weaving Centre, where you will find some Bhutanese women at play with their looms.
  • Drive toward the Giant Buddha Statue, perched on a commanding hill of Kuensel Phodrang that gives the panoramic view of the magnificent Thimphu City.
  • Explore one of the biggest Buddha statues ever built in the world and it is built particularly on the present location following the prophecy of one of the great Buddhist Masters, which is intended to strengthen peace and prosperity in Bhutan and spread them gradually to the world around.

Day 2: Thimphu

  • Visit the Indigenous hospital and make a short tour to the mini-museum that can give you some idea about the herbal medicines and indigenous treatment in Bhutan.
  • Stop at the National Folk Heritage Museum.
  • Drive to the National Takin Zoo and get a glimpse of Bhutan’s national animal.
  • Follow the road that leads to the Nunnery and stop to see the view of Tashi Choedzong and the Parliamentary Hall along with the National Golf Course.
  • Explore the Traditional paper making factory, the only one existing in Thimphu. Below this factory is the most famous Bhutanese painting gallery where one can witness the live painting exhibition.

Day 3: Thimphu - Punakha

  • Head to Punakha after an early breakfast.
  • Visit the Simtokha Dzong on the way, you, the oldest fortress built by the great Zhabdrung somewhere in the 17th Century. Stop at the Dochula Pass that divides Punakha valley from Thimphu valley, which were built in memory of our great victory over the multiple Indian insurgents who intruded out country since the 90s.
  • Visit the temple of the divine madman, popularly known as the man with crazy wisdom. He is closely associated with the symbol of Phallus. It is believed that he preached Buddha Dharma in a very simple manner such that even a layman could understand.
  • Explore this temple, known as the temple of fertility where people from across the globe visit to receive the blessings from the Devine Mad Man so that they get conceived.

Day 4: Punakha - Paro

  • Make a visit to the Punakha Fortress, sits on a plain that looks like a tusk of a sleeping Elephant. This fortress is deemed as the most beautiful fortresses in the country with spectacular architectures and designs.
  • Discover the bridge that joins the fortress with the road that is beautiful and worth observing with silence. The river below the bridge flows softly and is called Female River that is very gentle and good for soft rafting.
  • Visit the Botanical Park at Lamperi on your way back to Paro, which has beautiful plants, birds and animal species.

Day 5: Paro

  • Head to the Tiger Nest.
  • Hike the Tiger Nest, (about 2 Hours up and 1 hour down), the most visited Temple in the country.
  • Visit the National Museum and the Paro Rinpung Dzong.
  • Walk down the trail that leads you to the Paro Rinpung Dzong or the Fortress of the Piled up Jewels.
  • Experience walking through the oldest cantilever bridge existing in the country. This bridge is known as “No Nails” and it is a typical example of Bhutanese Architecture.

Day 6: Paro

  • Check out from the hotel after breakfast.
  • Transfer to the Paro airport.
