Jinjiang Wooden Village

Jinjiang Wooden Village was constructed in 1677. It is believed that Emperor Kangxi planned to hold sacrificial rites of passage to heaven and ancestors, which resulted in the deployment of troops to the area. The 30 cabins that remain today were constructed by local residents using traditional techniques and materials, including wooden beams, shingles and chimneys. It is the last remaining wooden village in Changbai Mountain.
