Sapporo Snow Festival

The 2024 Snow Festival is scheduled for February 4 to February 11. It is one of Japan’s most popular winter events in Hokkaido. The main site is the 1.5-kilometer-long Odori Park in the heart of Sapporo, which is known as the Odori Site. There will be a display of the enormous snow sculptures, some of which exceed 25 meters in width and 15 meters in height. Also are lit up daily until 22:00. There will be over a hundred lesser snow sculptures, as well as a dozen large snow sculptures, concerts, and other activities.

 

 

Sapporo Beer Museum

Sapporo has been the home of Sapporo Beverage, one of the most renowned and traditional beverage brands in Japan, since 1877. The museum introduces the history of beer in Japan and the process of beer making. Following the exhibitions, for a nominal fee, beer sampling are offered. A few establishments comprise the Sapporo Beer Garden, which is situated adjacent to the museum. Among the restaurants are several, atmospheric beer halls, but also the more sophisticated Garden Grill restaurant.

 

 

Mount Moiwa

At its summit, an observation platform offers a magnificent panorama of the city, making the mountain a well-liked location for tourists. The view is especially beautiful after sunset. The Mount Moiwa Ropeway climbs from the base of the mountain three-quarters up the mountain to a transfer station. A distinctive miniature cablecar then ascends to the upper station situated atop the structure, providing access to a restaurant and observation platform that offer picturesque panoramas of the city. The station also has a planetarium and theater.

 

 

Curb Market

The Market consists of nearly 80 stores and restaurants lined up along several blocks just outside of Sapporo’s Central Wholesale Market. One of the city’s largest public markets, the Curb Market specializes in Hokkaido seafood such as crab, sea urchin, salmon roe, squid and scallops, and local produce such as corn, melons and potatoes when in season. Jozankei Onsen

Located within Shikotsu-Toya National Park, Jozankei Onsen is framed by the towering cliffs of the Toyohira River. Being situated a mere hour’s distance from central Sapporo, the town is a popular diversion for those visiting the city. Jozankei, where the onsen waters were first discovered in 1866, is now home to dozens of ryokan, restaurants, and stores that cater to tourists interested in hot springs. Several ryokan offer day visitors entrance to their baths for a fee of 500 to 2000 yen. Furthermore, free foot baths can be found around town.

Yuejiang Tower

This tower on the summit of Lion Hill is within the north-west section of Nanjing city. Yuejiang literally means “overlooking the river” in Chinese, so be assured that you will get the chance to enjoy the spectacular 360 degree view of Yangtze River on the top floor of the tower. From the base of the hill there is a series of external escalators to assist in reaching the summit. Or you can climb up the stairs with attractive trees and shrubs on either side.

 

 

Xuanwu Lake

Beside the City Wall there is an exquisite lake to enjoy a day out with your family and friends. It was once the largest imperial lake garden in China. City Wall of Nanjing

Unlike the city wall in Xi’an and Pingyao, Nanjing City wall wasn’t built in a rectangle, but instead uses the city’s natural defenses as the rivers, lakes and mountains to determine its contours.  It is a 600-year-old city wall built when the city was the capital of Ming Dynasty.

 

 

Confucius Temple Qinhuai Scenic Area

With quaint riverboats, bridges and Chinese architecture flanking its banks, this area is the most prosperous cultural and commercial center in the history of Nanjing. It is highly recommended to enjoy a night tour on the river via boat.
